Unbeaten Somerville routs Del Val

Nine different players registered at least one point, led by sophomore attackman Logan LaBlond’s two-goal, three-assist effort, and the Somerville High School boys lacrosse team remained unbeaten with a 13-1 drubbing of Delaware Valley in Skyland Conference Raritan Division action on Tuesday.

The victory for Somerville (10-0, 4-0 Skyland Raritan) was its third straight by at least 10 goals.

The Pioneers took a commanding 7-0 lead into halftime and extended it to 12-1 by the end of the third period. Junior attackman Matt Raposo collected three goals and one assist, upping his season totals to 33 goals and 35 assists. Raposo ranks third in the state in points with 68 behind Aaron Bennett (83 points) and Jack Goracy (70 points) of Rancocas Valley.

Other contributors for the Pioneers included Michael Waterfield with three goals and Casey McAdam with one goal and one assist.

Delaware Valley (6-4) got a goal from Jake Steiger.
